I’m still stunned by how much I loved this film! Might have to go catch it again before it leaves theatres.
I know I definitely enjoyed it more than The Pacific, which makes use of some very similar scenarios. The secret ingredient is whimsy… and maybe a little nostalgia.
I’m way ahead of you. Heading in for my second helping right now.
BTW – I thought that Joe Johnston was buoyed by strong source material and a talented cast. His directing is better suited for the Jumanji crowd – as can be seen in the hackneyed execution of the bar scene when Cap recruits his new team.
