This Town has Legendary Guardians

We’ve got plenty to talk about as usual this week, but we get through it so well you can barely tell Brian’s joining us via telephone.We’ve got reviews for The Town & Legend of the Guardians, as well as our thoughts on the Golden Globe nominations, and we’ve even got our holiday spirit chugging as we break A Christmas Story and Bad Santa out of the Vault.

1. The Golden Globes nominations have been posted and Brian and Steve have a few things to get off their chests about it, one them includes vomiting noises (we’re a classy bunch around here). We also discuss a little about the AFI’s top 10 of 2010, and how they might have a more accurate read on the pulse of the filmmaking industry.
2. A little change of pace this week to ring in the season, we break open the Christmas Vault with Steve & Brian’s favourite Christmas movies – and what would Christmas be without a little argument about them?
3. Ben Affleck’s second love letter to Boston, The Town, is out on blu-ray just in time for the Christmas rush. It’s a film with a lot of familiar elements in it, but is this AFI top 10 movie an imitator or just paying homage?
4. In between superhero films, Zack Snyder decided the next logical film to work on was one about owls engaging in mortal combat… What? There seem to be several elements at odds with eachother in this film, can they find a balance and take flight?
5. From what has been an agonizing trickle the last few weeks, so a sudden deluge of great trailers, we discuss the trailers for Summer Wars, The Tree of Life, Water for Elephants, Limitless & Take Me Home Tonight.
