Encouraging…even better (in a root for the little guys and not Middle America way), the two highest grossers have no shot at winning.
Of course, we’re all being cynical here. Ideally, the best films DO earn the most money, since, you know, they’re good and people listen to critics and such. Alas, that ain’t the case…
Again, we’re on the same page and I’m crossing my fingers that what I’ve got up my sleeve along this line of thinking is not up your sleeve as well…
Seriously though, the mob that puts these films in the stratosphere of box office returns can easily psych you out from the other mob that awards these films with golden statuettes. The answer is always somewhere in between.
I have nothing up my sleeve that I’m aware of, so I think you’re safe. Though, of course, you have me curious now…
