During the Break | The Reena Virk movie

It would appear that we’re not the only ones who thought it was a mistake to shoot the story of Reena Virk’s murder in a city other than Victoria, as it looks like there will be a second movie about her murder made and it will be shot on location. I think a cogent argument is formed at some point in this conversation.

You can catch The Film Cynics on CFAX 1070 every Sunday afternoon at 3pm PST.

  • Get over it. Fringe is filmed in Vancouver to be Boston. “Under the Bridge” is a feature film and the people in the industry in Toronto can replicate any place required. Same as Vancouver. Using the logic of this pair, X-MEN should never have left Ontario to be filmed in B.C. But it did, and the feature never suffered much from the move.

    • Hey, if they didn’t shoot all the X-Men movies out here, what the heck would they have used for Xavier’s mansion? Hatley Castle was perfect! And why does it make sense to shoot X-Men in Ontario anyway?

If they can double Hawaii for The Amazon (like in The Rundown), they can make anywhere look like anywhere. I don’t believe for a second that shooting in Toronto is cheaper than shooting here – and don’t forget, the location scouting would be done in advance. ;)
