The trailer for I Love You, Man 2 has arrived…

Oh wait, it’s not the sequel to I Love You, Man at all. It just feels a lot like it. Maybe that isn’t a bad thing, but it certainly seems that Hollywood has found a zone that they’re willing to put Paul Rudd in if he wants to be the lead.

“Dinner for Schmucks” tells the story of Tim(Paul Rudd), a guy on the verge of having it all.  The only thing standing between him and total career success is finding the perfect guest to bring to his boss’ annual Dinner for Extraordinary People, an event where the winner of the evening brings the most eccentric character as his guest.   Enter Barry (Steve Carell), a guy with a passion for dressing mice up in tiny outfits to recreate great works of art. From Jay Roach, director of “Meet the Parents” and “Meet the Fockers” comes an unforgettable feast about two unlikely friends and one very memorable dinner.

Dinner for Schmucks is served on July 23, 2010.

    • It looks great! But what is up with all of these Yiddish words being popularized? When I was little, no one knew words like ‘Schmuck’ and ‘Putz’. These days, everyone knows them! Haha.

      • It’s a credit to the modern crop of empowered Jewish writers in the business today. Having a rich Yiddish lexicon in pop-culture these days helps me look like an enlightened member of the goyam.

    • Hahaha, Steve you are hilarious. And you are right; I guess the Jewish writers are going mainstream. You are a very smart and enlightened member of the goyam indeed. :)

I am reading this book right now; it’s absolutely hilarious. And it lets you add Yiddish words to your vocabulary, like schmegegge and macher!

Speaking of which, I do need to read the Tao of Pooh! I just placed a hold for it at my library. Will keep you updated.

    • This look sort of funny but unimpressive at the same time. Kind of sad really…

      • Yeah, it’s hard to say. Very familiar pretense, obviously competent cast, little room for anything new.

    • I think it looks awful. Will probably see it just based on the likability of the cast, but my hopes…they’re not high.

      • If I’m not gonna see Date Night, I’m sure as hell not gonna see this.
