Welcome to the podcast for the modern movie watcher. The Film Cynics were once a pair of surly video store clerks that eventually worked their way into the biz. After bouncing around in the industry for a while, they decided to stay true to the adage of: Those who can’t do, teach. And those who can’t find teaching jobs, create websites so they can spout off about movies and TV and anything in pop culture that catches their short attention spans. In our podcast you’ll be able to tune into our radio show on CFAX 1070.

Brian and Steve review the DVD release of Quentin Tarantino's Inglourious Basterds this week.

We start off this week’s show with a celebration of how well the movie business has been doing in this time of recession, even if that means that some lacklustre films have been making more money than they should. Our DVD review this week is Quentin Tarantino’s war flick, Inglourious Basterds who’s top billing of Brad Pitt might not have been exactly accurate. Brian offers up his Top 5 picks for best new shows of the Fall, then he briefs us on the hubbub over wireless charging platforms. Is inductive charging the wire-free miracle we’ve been waiting for? Our Christmas Vault picks of the week are A Christmas Story and Die Hard, and the trailer drought continues with so-so trailers for Brooklyn’s Finest and Crazy Heart.
