Welcome to the podcast for the modern movie watcher. The Film Cynics were once a pair of surly video store clerks that eventually worked their way into the biz. After bouncing around in the industry for a while, they decided to stay true to the adage of: Those who can’t do, teach. And those who can’t find teaching jobs, create websites so they can spout off about movies and TV and anything in pop culture that catches their short attention spans. In our podcast you’ll be able to tune into our radio show on CFAX 1070.

It’s the day after Hallowe’en, and whether people consider it a holiday or not, Steve and Brian both took the time out to watch some spooky movies in honour of the occasion – Brian revisited The Sixth Sense, while Steve introduced his wife to The Frighteners. The Film Cynics open the floor to discussions about TV, engaging about the vicariously invigorating Sons of Anarchy and heralding the arrival of the rejigged V coming to small screens this week. For their review of the week, Brian and Steve discuss Robert’s Kenner’s documentary Food Inc. that examines the perils of the American food system. Brian puts on his boxing gloves to duke it out about movie etiquette and welcomes a few calls while doing it. Finally Steve and Brian break out some classic scary movies from the Vault and recommend that you check out the trailers for Avatar and The Fantastic Mr. Fox.
