Despite the solemn entertainment news this week, with the deaths of Gary Coleman and Dennis Hopper, and the series finales of Lost & 24, we had a great time with Dylan “Fletch” Fields as our special guest to help us review 44 Inch Chest and talk about the LAMMY Awards and how to be a movie blogger. Then he helps us crack open the Vault and we discuss You Kill Me, Flashback and Speed. We cap the whole thing off with trailer talk about The Killer Inside Me, The Sorcerers Apprentice & Going the Distance. Have a great week, folks! It’s even a more jam-packed show than usual this week as we ride the wave of giddyness over our LAMMY nomination and review The Road, Invictus, “True Blood: Season 2″ and Dr. Zhivago right after we talk about the upcoming (for us, anyway) series finale of “Lost”. With that out of the way, we break Braveheart and For Your Consideration out of the Vault, then talk about the trailers for Super 8 and This Movie is Broken.

The Lord of the Rings is finally available on blu-ray and Steve’s got a copy to review, so why isn’t he happy? Well, it’s complicated. And did you know that 24 and Lost are coming to an end this year? What the heck are we going to do to fill the void? Brian’s gotten pretty tired of camera clerks shoving megapixels in his face, he knows there’s better ways to measure a camera’s greatness, and he tells us about them while we’re Geeking Out. All this, plus Steve’s top 5 masters, The Untouchables and Ralph Bakshi’s The Lord of the Rings from the Vault and the trailers for The Expendables and The A-Team.

The Cynics discover a Vampire in desperate need of Assistance

Incredibly, the Olympic Gold Medal Hockey game wrapped up just in time for The Film Cynics to go on the air and deliver one of their most scathing reviews for The Vampire’s Assistant. We also had time to talk about The Hurt Locker’s Oscar troubles, the possibility of an Unbreakable 2, David Goyer writing the new Superman movie, and even speculations about what’s going on with Lost.We geek out over still cameras that can shoot HD video, then break Night Watch and In Bruges out of the Vault, and wrap it up with the trailers for Get Him to the Greek and Nightmare on Elm Street.

We’re peppering you with reviews… and Barry Pepper!

This week was a jammed packed show already, with Zombieland and Black Dynamite on the docket for review, but add in the fact that Barry Pepper gave us a call and stuck around for almost a 20 minute interview, and you’ve got yourself some serious entertainment! Mr. Pepper regales us with stories about growing up on a sailboat in the South Pacific, going to bootcamp with Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg, and adding his voice to Modern Warfare 2. We’ve got all that, plus we break out Lost: Season 1 out of the Vault, and talk about the trailers for Cyrus and Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps.
